I have also discovered Crocodoc. It seems very similar to Google Doc to me. The difference seems to be that Crocodoc can use any format. So than of course Google Doc have come out with a whole new long list of document formats that it accepts. It seemed hard for me to get information on Google Doc to compare without creating one. So I found a tech blogger that know way more about all of this stuff then me.

Wiffiti
Wow my boss at work sent me a link that introduced a presentation on using Social Media in E learning. I learned about a tool called Wiffiti.
The idea behind Wiffit is to publish real time messages to a large screen. So you can use this during a presentation. Users don't have to sign up for an account and you can set parameters. It looks pretty cool.
So I created on about fishing. You can add upto 5 hash tags so twitter feeds etc will be included. The
tags I chose were fishing, and boating.

FLICKR
Ok here is what I know about Flickr....
Free account
- They are an image and video hosting website owned by yahoo.
- They also are used to share and embed photos and videos.
- They have an app for BlackBerry...makes me happy.
- You are to tag photos to help with sorting etc.
Free account
- You can upload 300 MB of images and 2 videos a month
- You can only see the most recent 200 photos ever.
- If your account is inactive for 90 days it can be deleted.
- You can only contribuite to 10 photo pools
- You can not acces the original files unless you pay.
- You can upload unlimited images and videos.
- You can contribute to 60 photo pools.
- No adds when browsing.
- I thought that I could use Flickr to replace saving my photos in an external hard drive. As you can tell that would be a back idea....

Rypple
I have joined Rypple and it looks really good.
It seems better for a work type situation than a Wiki because it is secure.

Flickr vrs Picasa
OK So I have been using the Google Picasa 3. I am currently uploading my pics and videos on to Flickr to see the difference and see what I like better.
So Flickr only allows so many mega bites per month. It also only allows to to upload 2 videos a month HMMMM!!!

Twitter Search / Search Twitter
Ok so I have been trying to discover how to seach for people on twitter. I have tried by name and by email. I then came across a video on Common Craft about Twitter Search.
It makes it possible to find people and even more important topics. Jordan mentioned this during class when he told us about hash tags and trends. Unfortunately this is more advanced then I was actually trying to do. I just need to find a few friends.
So by going to http://search.twitter.com/ you can track trends. As an example I seached by the word paramedic and I found a few people that might be interesting to follow in my industry.
The more looking and learning I do the more looking I learning I need to do!!
